Network wiring is often looked at as a necessary evil, but it does not have to be. Remember, network wiring is what connects your computers, and in turn – allows you to run your business. It is imperative that the wiring be free of kinks, open jackets, and other cuts or bends. This will allow the wire to function at its best, and will allow your information to travel without errors thus reducing the amount of wait when transferring a file.

To re-wire an existing network – all prior cable has to be removed and a new – often more optimal – path needs to be selected. All locations have to be marked on a project map, and proper number of outlets need to be selected. Often – businesses under-estimate the amount of wiring needed, only to realize a few months after that it was more cost effective to add an extra few lines – just in case.

Also – it is important to note that Cat5e wiring can also be used for telephone equipment, especially Voice over IP telephone – as it travels over the same network, thus reducing the amount of wires needed.
